About Boyd Varty
Boyd is a lion tracker, a life guide, and a storyteller. He is also a wildlife and literacy activist.
Boyd grew up on the Londolozi Game Reserve near the Kruger National Park in South Africa. This natural and wild environment provided Boyd with some very unique and challenging experiences.
In his TED talk, Boyd details his narrow escape from a vicious crocodile attack. He also describes his interactions with former president, Nelson Mandela. Following his release from prison, Nelson Mandela stayed at the Londolozi Game Reserve.
Boyd is a certified Master Life Coach and helps people find their paths to healing, wholeness and wildness. Boyd is the author of The Lion Tracker's Guide to Life, and Cathedral of the Wild.

Londolozi Game Reserve
Boyd spent his childhood surrounded by wildlife including lions, leopards, snakes, and elephants at Londolozi Game Reserve. Londolozi has been run by his family for nearly 100 years and is one of South Africa’s original private game reserves. Click below for the Londolozi YouTube channel.
